Cookies are tiny bits of data stored in the computer by the browser from various websites. The piece of information stored in cookies is used for various purposes like validating the ID of the user. The ultimate purpose of storing cookies is to assign a unique ID to the user’s computer. Most of the cookies are set for a period of time after which they expire. However, you can delete the cookies manually as well.
Do the following to delete the cookies stored by Internet Explorer:
- Click Tools option in the menu bar of Internet Explorer and go to Tools > Internet Options. The Internet options windows opens. The default will be the General tab.
- Click Delete button given under Browsing history. The Delete Browsing History appears.
- Check the Cookies option if found unchecked.
- Click Delete.
This will remove the cookies stored by Internet Explorer.
Do the following to remove cookies in Mozilla Firefox
- Go to Tools > Options in the browser. The Options window opens.
- Click Privacy tab.
- Select “remove individual cookies”. The Cookies window opens. You can either search in the search box or even scroll and find out the specific cookies.
- Select the cookies to be deleted. Use Ctrl for multiple selection.
- Click Remove Cookies to delete the selected cookies or Remove All Cookies to delete all the stored cookies.
- Click Close to close the box.
The procedure removes cookies stored by Mozilla Firefox.
